Another Victory Achieved

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Wow!! This verse impacted me in a fresh new way this morning. I was sitting on my back porch and had just finished reading the 21st day of my Daniel Fast devotional, which directed me to read this Bible passage.

I’ve been given victory over many things, including sugar (the bad kind) and junk food in general, but mainly caffeine. I had been praying for a long time to begin a healthy routine, but failed many times. It wasn’t until I made up my mind and began to research, pray, and then obey, that my path to success began. However, it wasn’t easy. The first 3 days were tough. I got sick. You don’t realize how much your body craves for something until it is deprived of it. It’s like a spoiled undisciplined child that throws tantrums when it doesn’t get what it wants.

We’ll, today I give God glory and thanks for giving me strength to overcome! I pray to stay on this new healthy path and that I will meditate on this scripture each day to remind me of the freedom I now have to not crave or give in to what is not beneficial for my body, mind, and spirit.

“For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want.”

Galatians 5:17 BSB

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I’m so grateful for those who have dealt with difficult issues and have used their faith, experience, and wisdom to teach others how to follow what God has taught them. I too hope to share the things I have learned. This is my hope for this blog, to be a light somehow to others; A light that directs them to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

The “justified” shall live by faith. Not by what they see, but by Faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). Even when we don’t see it, even when we don’t feel it, we must believe in God’s promises. A quick analogy would be a weather report. The forecast may show that a hurricane is approaching, but the current weather is beautiful, the sun is shining, birds are singing, and some may even be at the beach having a wonderful time. Yet, we choose to believe the report, right? We have faith in the weather guy! Well, sometimes anyway.

As we believe God and we see His promises come to pass in our lives, our faith grows. As we read His promises, our hope rises. Our relationship with Him is strengthened and our hearts lean closer to Him as He reveals His will for our lives. When we learn to truly trust Him, changes begin to take place in front of our very eyes! His promises are TRUE.

Just sending a big hug of encouragement to all reading this testimony. I pray God will give you the strength to begin or continue in your path for a better physical, emotional, and spiritual health!

Jesus tells us…

“Do not be afraid; only believe.”

Mark 5:36

He will take you by the hand and guide the way.
