Hello and Happy Summer☀️
It’s going to be another very warm day here in North Carolina. But that’s ok. I’m grateful.

I was reading my morning devotional and it was a reminder of how many times in life we can take for granted all the little moments each day, that are given to us.
Warm breezes, birds singing, beautiful colors around us.
Friends and family.
So many joys that we can miss each day. The things that truly matter. That give our souls rest.
When life feels heavy for me, I like to write or walk in the park near lots of trees and water.

Jesus told us that when we are weary and burdened…(LIFE)…what we should do.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.””
Matthew 11:28-30 ESV
Yoke: a wooden bar or frame by which two draft animals (such as oxen) are joined at the heads or necks for working together

Jesus does not want us to try and carry “life” alone. It’s too heavy. He will carry the heavier part and…help us to carry our part.
Yet at times we push Him away and move on with the heavy loads and say I can do this myself. Maybe not in words, but in actions.
I have come to know….
~ Jesus is the only safe place

He is our refuge from the storms of life!
Sometimes his presence feels like…
~ A warm coat on a cold winter day.
~ The sudden cool breeze when it’s hot and humid.
~ The friend who calls at just the right time.
He meets you at your deepest need!

This is our Granddaughter, Mikaela, helping her little friend up the stairs. They are only TWO 😃 years old.
She has a kind heart and always will…I just know it! She will bring joy and kindness to everyone she meets!
By the way, she also loves tomatoes!

When I look at her I thank God for every moment we get to be with her. We don’t take for granted our time spent with her and our families.
Time is precious and a gift. We must treasure it.
“yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.””
James 4:14-15 ESV

This is my husband, Mike. He has been a wonderful gift to me and our family!
We met when I was only 22yrs old and we’ve been best friends since. We’ll be married 38 years this coming September.
There have been many storms over these years together but we have always run to God for refuge, and he has never failed us.
I pray everyone reading this post will do the same and let God into your lives and relationships as well.
So, since none of us know what tomorrow holds,
Let’s be grateful for every moment we have. And…be sure that Jesus is OUR safe place, here on earth and into eternity.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1 ESV
