Hello! Thanks for coming by!
I know things are pretty heavy out there. The world is spinning faster and faster. However, let’s try and keep our heads up and hearts soft. No matter what, we lean NOT on our own understanding!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
The other day I started doing some New Year’s resolution stuff. Ya know, like setting up the nutrí-bullet. I was truly having fun cutting up the veggies and fruits. Pray for us to stay on course! LoL
As I was finishing up the veggies, I received a call from two of my sisters, Gerri and Vicky. They called me to catch up and have a few laughs😂. They also shared a funny story about something that happened on the Ferry. The incident caused them to think about me. Perhaps because they thought about how I would have reacted with my silly sense of humor, which comes from our dad!
They were on their way to surprise my other sister, Kathy, in Virginia. Kathy absolutely loves being with her sisters. So, I knew she would be very happy to see them. I knew they would have a wonderful visit and definitely be laughing the rest of the weekend.
We, like many others, had some rough trials growing up, but we also had lots of fun! Our parents were kindhearted and full of laughter.
Before they called, I was thinking about writing this blog. For some reason I began to think about shooting stars, how bright and fast they move and how quickly they fade away. According to Space.com, the Orionids (what is commonly known as meteor showers) come from the mighty Orion constellation. Huh? Exactly!

I don’t understand all of the science out there. But I do understand how it feels to lose someone you love…way too soon. Our mother passed when she was only 64 years old. My siblings and I have lived and experienced so much since she left us. She would have absolutely enjoyed all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sometimes I think about how much of our lives she has missed and still feel pain if I think too long over her.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that we are all like shooting stars. Our lives move as fast as they do. We cannot do anything about time. We cannot stop it or slow it down, but we can make a difference in good ways while we are here. I myself want to shine brighter and brighter each day.
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky .”
Philippians 2:14,15
💙Love is not self-centered, self-preoccupied, or selfish. It is unfailingly other-centered. All its focus rests upon the other person. That is what the Bible teaches us.
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
Philippians 2:3–4 ESV
This kind of love is impossible to give without Jesus. That’s because His love is genuine, absolutely pure, and unselfish. Ours is not. It’s so beautiful to know that you are loved (by Him) unconditionally. Jesus meets us right where we are then takes away our baggage and gives us His peace and His love in return.
I’m grateful that He is still at work in my life. He is always teaching and guiding me. Just like a loving parent. GOD IS LOVE. Let’s try and rest in His perfect ways. I pray for strength, peace and health for all of you!
Happy New Year. All things new💫
Beautiful memories of your mom. God is so big and gracious! xoxo
