Pretty awesome photo, right?
It inspired me to pull myself out of this melancholic mood and start journaling again.
So, I just got off the phone with my husband, who is about an hour and a half away and has been working since 7:am. He has been on this trek for the last 6 weeks now. Election season is especially busy at his job. We are grateful for the extra income, but it gets to us at times.
Mike and I have been blessed with a good friendship and we love to spend time in the mornings in prayer and devotion. But unfortunately, we can’t do it during this busy business season. He leaves very early to work and gets back home late.
Our hope and desire are to wrap this up by next year as we look forward to retirement. I can’t wait to get in our car, or better yet, an RV (God willing), and hit the road for a little traveling to see some of this beautiful country of ours!
This has been my heart’s desire forever! God has been so good to us and our ultimate joy would be to visit our families and travel to different places around the country.
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”
Psalm 37:3-5 ESV
We know that whatever we pray for, God has something even better! It’s just the waiting for His perfect timing that’s tough at times. But, because we know that His ways are higher and far better than ours, we are encouraged over and over again to wait. And, that’s not easy.
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV
Most times, I’m not good at waiting. I’ve gotten better, but I do get discouraged at times and then need to encourage myself in the Lord. That means I need to get in the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to remind me of His goodness and kindness. To remind me of His promises!
Ultimately God’s plan is best, I fully believe that.
I’m waiting for Him. He can be trusted!!
And as I wait, I look forward to sharing my adventures with all of you in the near future!
Blessings.
Love today’s journaling….what a great reminder on patience and trust!!
