Lonely and needing rescue

I’m sure you’ve heard it said before that you can be in a room full of people (or at some large event) and yet still feel alone.

There are many forms of loneliness. For example: Some people can feel very lonely in their relationships. How? When either person is more interested in their own happiness and fulfillments than the other’s.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Philippians 2:4 ESV

Jesus was very caring and compassionate. He was always putting other people’s needs before His own. He never turned anyone away. Yet, in all His goodness, He was hated! Why? Maybe it was conviction, which can be powerful and life changing if we listen and do as God directs us, but can also cause people to retrieve. That’s why I believe that Jesus must have also felt alone at times. He longed to be with His Father in Heaven where he was adored. Yet, He gave up His heavenly glory and communion to come and show us the way back to God. And that way is only through faith in Him. In other words, Jesus came to rescue us!

When people are in need of being rescued, they usually just TRUST their rescuers. They believe their instructions because they can point them to the way out. And because there is no time to waste, they know that they just have to follow their lead. I choose to believe and follow our Rescuer, Jesus! Lord help me to be a better example, to be able to help others understand how much you care about their current situations. That you want to rescue them!

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

‭‭There are many who experience being lonely; The elderly, the homeless, the addicted. They may have people come and help them with tangible things but still be left with emptiness in their hearts. Therefore, the loneliness remains. That’s because there is a place in our hearts that is meant for our Creator alone. No one or nothing else can fill that place that belongs to Him.

If you feel lonely or in need to be rescued, I pray that you would trust and follow Jesus today. His love is there to keep you company and save you. Remember, tomorrow is not promised to any of us. God bless you!

Here is a relevant song that I believe will minister to your soul.

I was just saying this “Lord I feel lonely” and he led me to your post. He is always on time and is the ONLY one who can fill the cracks in our soul. This was beautifully written. Thank you.
