I’m sitting in my car by the bay (Hudson Bay). What a difference when it’s warm and windy as opposed to when it’s freezing and windy!  I would love to be out there right now but there’s no way these bones would tolerate the cold!  Yet, it doesn’t stop me from getting my iced espresso from my friend Portia at the Starbucks in Stop n Shop.  Portia has a beautiful joyful attitude and always knows exactly how to make my coffee (decaf)

One day while getting my coffee, Portia didn’t have her usual smile on and I could tell she was a little different that day.  So, I grabbed one of my “little mustard seeds” and gave it to her to remind her that God sees and knows her.  She immediately smiled and held it to her heart.  

I’m always amazed at how Jesus knows exactly when we need His Presence the most!

Thinking about the joy on her face made me realize even more how important it is to keep growing and not become weary and discouraged when things are not moving as fast as we would like them to.  

Our faith is meant to grow and grow, little by little, just like a mustard seed. It’s not supposed to stay the same as it was when we first believed!  The Bible tells us…

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we do not read or hear the Word of God every day, we won’t grow.  The Word brings life and faith to our souls.  Just like food does for our body, so does the Word give our souls and spirit life. 

Problems arise when we become impatient with ourselves.  We usually become discouraged because real growth is always slow growth! 

This sticky, which I have on my monitor, is there to remind me that God has taken the ashes in my life and has, and is still, giving me beauty instead.   

Jesus has taken me and others I know, from addiction, depression, anxiety, fear, and sadness, to freedom, peace, security, hope, courage, and JOY.  

I have so very much to be grateful for, especially people like Portia. I’m so glad that she allowed God to speak to her and comfort her. She asked me for some more of the seeds so she can give them to others too! She now has a mission too. 😇  

I have great joy when I get to see people allow Jesus into their hearts and lives.
