Our Anchor to the ground!

Hello and thank you so much for coming along in this journey with me. I hope that in some small way you are receiving some encouragement in your own lives through some of my testimonies.

I’m sitting here in my little room where I love to hang out with Kitty, who rarely leaves my side.  Although her purring is a distraction at times, I’m glad she stays.

I’m thinking of the many people who are grieving the loss of their loved ones in the 911 attack 20 years ago today.  I remember, as I’m sure all of you do as well, where I was when I heard the news unfolding.

It was a complete shock. I remember the feeling of urgency to gather my family together. I am sure we all did! I also remember the initial instinct most of us had. We immediately started to look outside of ourselves and sought God for comfort and answers.

There are still so many unanswered questions in life. Especially after the horror of watching our young service members murdered this past month. Not to mention the pain of their parents and loved ones seeking answers from those who are supposed to be protecting them.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing or no one, in this world, who we can fully hold onto for safety. It’s like being on the Titanic. Eventually, it’s going under and the people you are around cannot save you and you cannot save them.  We can tell each other “it’s gonna be okay.” We can even give a lifejacket to others, but the ship is still sinking. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Not here, in this present life, anyway.

But, eternity is promised to us!  It is like an anchor that keeps us from drifting away and breaking apart. I pray we will ALL believe the Words of Jesus…

““Very truly I tell you,

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:11-12‬ ‭NIV

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭NIV

Very profound and true. If the ship (Christian) did not have an anchor we would all be either drifting and living life solo with no direction. Lost and confused. But, thank God He is our anchor and keep us safe. I myself would be smashed to smithereens had it not been for our Lord and Savior! He is our anchor and our ONLY hope. Love to read your reminders.
