Happy Saturday🐑

And an absolutely beautiful day it is. Warm, breezy and party sunny ☀️.

My favorite type of weather.

Last week, on Easter morning, I went to the Dunkin Donuts near my house and got my usual coffee. Iced Americano. The young man attending me said Happy Easter. I said Thank you, you as well.

Then I asked where he went to church. He responded – nowhere. That he’s not religious, but his grandmother is.

I replied that Jesus is definitely not a religion. He is a relationship. Like a friendship…He just smiled kindly.

I thought about it. It’s so simple yet so difficult for many.

But like any other relationship, until the first step is taken. This can’t be be understood or enjoyed.

What step?

…“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

That’s it.

After this step, Jesus will then begin teaching, guiding and transforming you. Sometimes the changes will be very quick. Like when my husband submitted his heart, he was delivered immediately from addictions. No more desire for the substances he was tied to.

I call that freedom.

Peace. Joy. No more fear. A future and a hope. This was a gift to me and my 3 year old, at the time, as well. I had my husband and my son had his father now.

Not the “bar” anymore!!

Jesus saved our lives. He saved our marriage and protected us from the generational addictions that we both grew up around!

This is what God does for us. He breaks the chains off of our lives, forever. Do we stumble throughout life still, yes. But He never lets us fall!

“for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24‬:‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭121‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I think about when we’re walking with our Granddaughter, Mikaela. She’s going to be two in a few weeks.

We hold her hand because we know she will stumble at times! But of course we’ll do anything to avoid letting her fall.

God also holds our hand throughout our lives, when we submit to Him.

We must grow and learn things along the way but He is always there to guide us in the way we should go. Does he force us?

Absolutely not. Sometimes I wish He would.

I pray you will trust Him with your life.

With all that is important to you.

He will never fail you!

Blessings on this beautiful Saturday. ☀️
