Unconditional Friendship

Best friend…

Hello and happy summer to all. It’s been a couple months since I’ve posted due to my knee replacement surgery done in May. What a trip!! But today, I’m happy to say I’m a little bit closer to getting back to walking and being active again.

It hasn’t been without lots of PT…and of course lots of TLC from my husband, Mike!

God comes to us in millions of ways, if we look and listen closely. Not just in our happy days but in our cloudy days as well.

One of His ways are by giving us family and friends to walk this life with. I’m grateful for the people He has given to me!

My sister Kathy came over the first week I was home to help us.

My sons came to visit me bringing me laughter and joy as usual.

My daughter in law took care of me when I was at their home for a few weekends during my recovery. She makes a delicious banana bread 🍌

I could go on and on with all the cards of encouragement from my church family in Bayonne as well. Oh, and my sister Susan sent me some items to encourage me as well. lol.

Best of all…is this little precious person who God has blessed our family with…Our sweet granddaughter, Mikaela.

Time is so precious as we get older. Things that used to bring stress must be pushed away quickly so not to steal away joy.

We are so grateful for the blessings of family and friends. Even in trials, God is with us…and He is always working.

“But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.””
‭‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

He is always working in and around our lives. As a mom I know this feeling. No matter how old my children get, there is not a day since they were born that I have not thought about them. Praying for them, sending hugs and encouragement. Sharing life. Joys and sadnesses. This is the work. Never giving up. Never turning away. Always giving love the best you can.

God never gives up on us either, none of us.

He waits for us to draw near and immediately He’s there for us.

James 4:8a says Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

Isn’t it just like any relationship? If we spend time together and have genuine conversations with each other, we get closer. We get to know each other more deeply. It’s all so simple right? We become friends. Just like Jesus says. We are his friends.

“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I know of a few people right now that are going through some serious health issues. Who may not feel very joyful right now. I pray that His Presence will be with you and remind you that He is near. That although it’s hard to understand what is happening or why, you will find comfort in knowing, somehow, it will work out in the end, as you draw near to Him. Our only true peace.

Thank you for visiting! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
