Fourth Quarter

Bayonne

I’m sitting here in my comfy brown chair at 6:18 am looking around at all the boxes that are packed and ready to go. It’s surreal when you’ve spent the last 28 years of your life living in the same location. I remember the day my husband and I took this apartment. I looked out the window at the tree outside and thought to myself, “ah, we’ll only be here for a year”….so I thought! Our sons were 3 and 7 at the time.

It’s definitely time for our next season.

I’ve been both happy and anxious about this move. Change is never easy for us right? We don’t like the unknown.

The other day while I was on the ladder getting stuff down from my closet, I missed the last step and wound up on the floor! My knee is wrapped up right now in a brace. It’s a good thing I’m pretty good at being proactive. I started all this packing a couple months ago so most things are done. I’ll go to see an Orthopedic next week, and hopefully won’t need repair since I’ve already had surgery on this knee in the past. PT for sure!

James 1:2-3 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. [3] For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

This morning while reading my devotional, I was reminded of how much God has walked me through so far in my life, so why do I get overwhelmed with the “what ifs”?

Psalm 32:8 NLT
The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

It’s funny how we pray, plan accordingly, take all the steps needed to make wise decisions and yet still freeze up and allow doubt to run around in our head. It’s just the way we are, which is why we need to seek Him everyday for comfort and direction.

My husband is going through some emotions as well. Lots of memories and friends we’re leaving behind. Yet we know God has more for us to do, and that is exciting. We are looking forward to growing together with Mikaela, our beautiful granddaughter, who brings all of us so much joy! We can’t wait to get settled and continue doing life, in this new season, with our family.

Eleven days left before we move. Our sons are flying in to drive the U-Haul for us to our new place in NC

The four of us will spend the last night here in their childhood home, together.

Bittersweet

If you’re wondering about a decision you need to make. I pray you will seek His plan first, then everything else will fall into place.

Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
