Last Sunday was cold and windy. As I was looking out the window, I began to write about what was in my heart…
As the day moves on and the evening is approaching, the wind is picking up and I can hear my chimes getting louder. The clouds were darker earlier with some snow falling, not much, just a sprinkle but enough to look pretty, as usual. There is something about the snow that always comforts me. Even as a child I would camp near the window whenever the snow came and watch it all day, never getting bored. I wonder why.
Maybe it was the softness and calmness of the falling snow. The empty streets and the quietness.
Then again, maybe it was just the miracle falling from the sky that completely changed the landscape of the neighborhood outside. Perhaps because it “cleansed” it for me. My neighborhood as a child was mostly a place of stress and anxiety, and to go outside to play was not something that gave me that much joy unless no one was around! But even then, there was always that feeling like someone was going to show up around the corner and begin the bullying. Many times I would run to get into the house before I was seen. Crazy, but not as bad as it is for many children growing up today in a much darker world.
I just finished reading a true story of a woman who recently lost her husband. She wrote about his abusive upbringing and it just broke my heart. It made me feel righteous indignation, which is when you feel angry about something unjust.
Children today are being cruelly mistreated in so many different ways! They are trafficked, molested, put up for sale (as slaves) on the internet, and so many other horrors! Where are the civilized adults? I’ll tell you where they are. They are fighting about politics and their “rights”, about money, and about pronouns! It’s a “me, me, and me” world; lovers of themselves as the Scriptures put it.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.2 Timothy 1-5
It’s so very disturbing how cold our society has become and is becoming. The colder people’s hearts get, the more the children suffer.
It’s not a light thing to mess with children. They are the most precious people on this earth!
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”Mark 10:14
Mark continues to say that Jesus then blessed the children but not before indicating that he was “much displeased” with His disciples for trying to stop them from coming to Him. The same thing the world is doing today.
Jesus also said:
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven”Matthew 18:3–4
Now society is saying that children can make their own decisions about their sexual identity, even before they learn how to ride a bike! What?! To me, that is psychological abuse. It’s so very disturbing to watch the news today. There is just too much evil permeating our children’s lives. I pray that no matter what, God would protect them. We must come together and start praying more for our children, everywhere! Would you join me?
Prayer: Dear Father, I pray for the children of this world today. Cover them with your presence and bring them to safety no matter what they are going through right now. I pray that you will change the minds and hearts of all people to turn and give their hearts to you Lord Jesus, the only One who can restore all that has been broken. Amen.
