1. assistance and support in times of hardship and distress

The other day I was in the parking lot of the Lighthouse diner waiting for my husband so that we could have breakfast together before he heads off to work. He’s helping out for a few weeks during their busy season.

We went to the ENT (ears, nose and throat) because he’s been having some weird lightheaded episodes. The Dr said things seem fine with this area, so next stop…get a stress test.

Why do we take our health for granted? Why do we take our loved ones for granted? Why do we take life for granted? We all get caught up in the day in and day out of life. We don’t mean to, but It’s a good thing when we realize it, then take action.

How do we take action? We look deeper into the eyes of the people we love. We spend more quality time. We listen to them closer and take in their words. We look around at the beauty that God has given us and not take it for granted.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”

His best gift is His love for us which came to us through His son, Jesus.

So, back to not taking people and life for granted, we woke yesterday to find out that our very favorite outdoor cat, was hit by a car. I was just holding her and watching her play with my indoor cat the other day!

See, we never know when it’s the “last time”

We really enjoyed having this cat around, she always made us laugh. We named her cocoa because of her beautiful color. She was sweet, funny and very friendly and Mike and I are grateful for the couple of years we had with her.

See, it’s so important that we try to really enjoy each moment of each day…even in the tough times. Our God is always nearby waiting for us to reach out to him so that he can assist us (Succour). He knows when our hearts are troubled or afraid and he cares about all we go through.

Lord, help us to look to you when we feel afraid or distressed. Help us to look around at the gifts you have given to us and enjoy them…Like this sunrise I watched ❤️
