Perfect and Complete

Slow down

Okay, I think we’ve all been there; Waiting on a line, and sure enough, the changing of the cashier begins.

You look over to the other lines and see they are even longer, so you wait. If you’re in a hurry, it can be tough. I find out quickly if I’m going to be patient or suffer through it. I wish I could say I’m always patient, but that’s just not so!

Now…this is Patience 😍

The fruit of patience is being formed in us, but oh so slowly it seems at times.

”But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.“
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Hmm. Have its perfect work? That we may be perfect and complete? Lacking nothing? What does this all mean exactly? I asked God…

The Olympics came to mind. Have you ever watched a documentary or movie about the life of an Olympic athlete? What they endure, for years, before they even get to the games to compete? Never mind actually winning the gold medal!

This is what, I believe, part of “patience having its perfect work done” looks like. After all the pushing through the trials, falls, bruises and hardships then comes the reward. We are polished! The hard edges are shaved off of our characters and sweetness arises in us!

Peace follows 🕊️

It would be great if our characters were shaped without the hardships, but we all know that’s not true.

It’s only through the tough stuff in life that we grow. I guess we should be encouraged when patience is being tested because it’s doing a “great work” in us.

God’s ways are higher than ours. His thoughts are pure toward us and always for our good!

”For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Thanks for stopping by to read today’s post. Love and blessings to you all🕊️
