”But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.“
James 3:17-18 ESV
Here are some definitions of this “wisdom”, according to the Webster’s Dictionary.
Pure ~ SPOTLESS, STAINLESS: free from harshness or roughness
Peaceable ~ disposed to peace : not contentious or quarrelsome
Gentle ~free from harshness, sternness, or violence
Open to reason ~willing to listen to logical or sensible thinking

As I pray for wisdom, I’m encouraged because I know that this is what our Father in Heaven desires for us as well! He wants our lives to be filled with joy and peace which, in many ways, comes through making wise choices. Problem is…there are times when we (I) make unwise choices, and it always leads to frustrations within.

Unwise choices are not the same as life’s normal struggles though….
Jesus told us in His word that we will have tribulations…
”I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”“
John 16:33 ESV
We all know that we cannot be perfect in human standards, but with his wisdom, we can move forward and upward toward obtaining more and more “heavenly wisdom” if we pray and ask Him….
”If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.“
James 1:5 ESV

Sometimes fear clouds our view and we make our own decisions without going to prayer first. I certainly have. But be encouraged because God is our faithful friend, who never turns away. Instead, He meets us where we are. With abundant grace and mercy.
The apostle Paul struggled with something in his life as well. This is what God’s answer to him was…
“Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.“
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 ESV
God knew that we would have things in our lives that would be hard. Thankfully, He takes these struggles of ours and strengthens our character through them!
What an amazing and very WISE God we have!! Good and caring Father.
I pray today for wisdom from Heaven!

May we all trust Him even when we’ve made “not so wise choices”, to turn them all around for our good and the good of those in our lives whom we love and care about!
It’s The Lord’s Grace that we need, and it’s His Guidance that we desire. They are both abundantly available. Wisdom says ask Him! Thanks for this encouraging message, Jackie💕

This word is such an encouragement and a reminder that God is shaping us into his image each day with each struggle. Romans 8:28 has been on mind and mentioned so many times since yesterday. Reminding me that he makes all things work for our good……even the mistakes WE made/make. What a REDEEMER 🙌🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾❤️!!!!
