Pruning

This one is not easy, but necessary, if we want to grow healthy. The process of Pruning.

Pruning: to cut off or cut back parts for better shape or more fruitful growth

I’ve been through this painful process many times in my walk with Christ and am currently in yet another season of cutting out old and being made new in areas of my heart. When will I learn that these seasons are never going to end?!

Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”‭‭‬‬

John 15:2 ESV

The pruning seasons bring healthy growth. This growth is not only for our good but for the good of those around us. We become a little wiser each time we allow God to remove old dead things from our lives. Like an attitude of our hearts that may not be pleasing to God. How can He love through me to others if there is a “stony attitude” or a “cranky countenance”.
It’s like eating a lemon! Sour.

We all intend to be pleasant at all times, with all people. Unfortunately this is not the case. Sometimes we just don’t feel good or don’t have the physical or emotional energy to be at our best. This is where I usually get caught.

I could have a hundred straight days of “walking in the spirit” feeling strong and at peace then, bam! I’m on my face!

Here come the pruning shears to cut off the “whatever” comes up that was not pleasant. Lol

Thank God!! As much as it hurts, I’m grateful that God loves me enough to keep shaping my heart to look like His.

So….when you see the stuff that needs to be pruned in your life, don’t get discouraged. Invite Him to help you. Thank Him. Let it go and keep growing!

Blessings🪴🪴
